Schoolgirls released on bail after facing attack charges

Two 12-year-old girls have been released on bail after facing a Brisbane court on charges relating to an attack on a 15-year-old physically and intellectually impaired boy.

It is alleged the 15-year-old victim suffered injuries to his head and arms when he was attacked at a derelict house on Brisbane's northside this week.

A 17-year-old man has already appeared in court charged with assault, torture and deprivation of liberty.

The 12-year-old school girls have been granted bail but are not allowed to contact each other.

Bail was refused to a 15-year-old boy with the Magistrate Tony Pascoe saying he had considered the seriousness of the charges and that the victim had little ability to protect himself.

The father of the charged boy described his son as a great kid and said he was shocked by the allegations.
